When a shoot tells a story, it makes for a particularly special set of images, and this one at new venue The Giraffe Shed in Wales generated some of my very favourites. The brief for this shoot was to capture the intensity and heartache of love in 1940s Britain. We shot in very early spring, and were surprised by a dusting of snow, which made the delicate yellows and first flushes of warm cream in the chosen flowers stand out even more beautifully.

I could wax lyrical about this shoot for ages (and the fortitude of our amazing models who braved the freezing temperatures in their wedding gowns), but I think I’ll let the images and the yolk yellow tulips, shy narcissus, feathery carnations and tightly spiralled little ranunculus do the talking for me.
