FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I am based in Powys, Mid-Wales, just a few miles from the Welsh/English border. Whilst I primarily install florals across Powys, Shropshire and Herefordshire, I am happy to travel further afield to bring those one-of-a-kind, amazing concepts to life.

Each collaboration is wonderfully unique, so if you think we’re a good match, I’d love to hear from you!

Firstly, please get in touch via the contact form and tell me all about your wedding plans so far. If I have your date free, I’ll confirm via email and schedule a discovery call with you to explore your design requirements. From here, I will create a detailed proposal along with a guide to starting costs.

If you would like to secure me as your floral designer, a booking fee confirms your date, and the design process begins! I always like to meet you in person, if possible, sketch/paint your designs, and create a lookbook, as well as take a visit to your venue, where we can discuss and visualise your wedding day decor together.

Sustainability sits at the core of Pheasant Botanica; therefore, I place great importance on sustainable design methods, continually doing my best to minimise my environmental impact with a devout focus on seasonality.

As a keen champion of reusing, repurposing and recycling, I moved away from floral foam a long time ago. Even the vases, vessels and ribbons I use to bind bouquets with are made from natural materials, subtly coloured and carefully chosen. To ensure my design techniques are sustainable and low-impact, I only use additional materials that are either natural (moss, dried flowers, potted plants, freshwater) or reusable (chicken wire, troughs, containers, water tubes).

I also grow as many flowers as I can within my flower field in the Welsh hills, which not only keeps the flower miles down but also adds that little bit of extra personality - from a wiggly stem to a sweet-scented bloom.

As a bespoke floral designer, I tailor my designs and create florals for each couple’s unique tastes and specifications. Whilst this means I am able to curate flowers to suit a variety of styles and budgets, I do have a minimum spend requirement of £2k.

Growing, designing and creating floral arrangements for weddings and events takes a huge amount of time, skill and investment. Installations, in particular, vary from architectural backdrops to floral hoops and aisle meadows - therefore, these are quoted on an individual basis depending on scale, composition, seasonality and design mechanics.

“Donna is exceptional. We can’t express enough how perfect every single one of the pieces she created for us was.”
