Early Autumn Statement Wedding Flowers

PORTFOLIO

A contemporary, alternative, yet deeply natural floral brief for this early autumn wedding. Bursting with personality, I knew I needed to find the perfect synergy between the florals, the couple and the venue itself in order to make a statement and create magic with flowers. To achieve this, I curated a raw, unexpected blend of colours and materials in the form of a generous hanging installation and a wild and rambling ceremony backdrop, framing the window, and the couple, as they exchanged their wedding vows.

The colour palette was built from a base of verdant foliage, blending pretty light pinks with hues of orange-brown. I sought out a striking combination of fresh and dried florals (including teasels successfully foraged by my husband!), nigella that had dried to the perfect shade of pink in the polytunnel, rust-coloured beech, zingy zinnia, armfuls of crisp autumn bracken and fragrant roses galore. The epitome of hazy late summer meets the golden glow of early autumn.
